ABSTRACT Introduction Oncolytic viruses (OVs) are a promising yet understudied class of therapeutic agents. OVs mediate anti-tumor activity through multiple mechanisms, including direct lysis of tumor cells, local expression of therapeutic transgenes, and induction of anti-tumor immunity. In 2015, Talimogene laherparepvec (T-VEC) was approved OV for melanoma.
