4. Medical Effects on Diseases This paper reviews the medical effects of the compounds in grapes on various diseases (Figure 4). 4.1. Cancer Cancer is a complex, multistep disease influenced by various factors, including environmental, chemical, physical, metabolic, and genetic elements. The beneficial role of polyphenol-rich foods in lowering cancer risk or mortality is well supported and undeniable [54].
