Effects of Stimulated Nitrogen Deposition on Soil Organic Carbon and Its Components in Platycladus orientalis Plantations
ABSTRACT Soil organic carbon (SOC) is the largest carbon pool in terrestrial ecosystems and plays an important role in mitigating global climate change. Increasing atmospheric nitrogen (N) deposition could cause remarkable changes in SOC dynamics. Platycladus orientalis, one of the most important plantation species, has been widely planted in northern China. However, how N deposition affects SOC and its components in P. orientalis has not been observed.
