As I prepare to close this incredible 18-year chapter with CUES, I can’t help but reflect on the journey—the challenges that stretched me, the people who shaped me, and the moments that revealed what leadership truly means. Over time, I’ve discovered that leadership is less about titles or positions and more about clarity, connections, and purpose.
I recently heard about a leader who lost her job because her employees had lost trust in her. They were demoralized because their customer satisfaction scores were the lowest in the organization. After multiple sessions of talking about strategies to reverse the situation and the development of detailed plans, nothing in the leader’s behavior changed. There was plenty of talk but no action.
