De Gabor, a French niche house created by perfumer Gabriel Gabor (MG International), made its debut at the ESXENCE 2023 exhibition in Milan. Previously, the perfumer had attended different shows unofficially, as a visitor with a samples portfolio. This practice allowed me to get acquainted with his first Haute Parfumerie fragrances like Darling, Genders, and Leather Forever. At ESXENCE 2023 Gabriel presented two new products: Darling Rouge (read Beth's review here) and Astronaut.

What is perfume normcore? Why is it necessary and why is it difficult... and rarely successful? The word itself is new. Well, it's relatively new. It was first invented in 2008 (by Ryan Estrada for the webcomic Templar, Arizona), and then introduced in 2013 as a characteristic of the modern social trend. That is, at first, the term didn't refer specifically to clothing, but rather to a sociopsychological trend — the desire to find freedom in not being anything special.

Usually in fragrances we look for unusual combinations or a special mood. But today we will talk about the "workhorse of everyday life," the traditional Italian cologne Morris Classic, a long-time resident of Italian barbershops and small perfumeries next to the local pharmacies and tobacconists.
