Integrated Assessment of Wall Shear Stress-Related Hemodynamic Parameters in Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms: A Retrospective Cross-Sectional Study on Ruptured Cases
1 Introduction An aortic aneurysm is a serious condition in which the aorta is abnormally enlarged in a balloon-like bulge. The majority of aortic aneurysms are on the abdominal side, and these are known as abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAAs). The prevalence of AAAs in patients above the age of 50 is reported as 0.5%–1% in women and 4%–8% in men [1, 2]. The normal diameter of the abdominal aorta is reported to be 2–2.5 cm [3].
