1 Introduction Isolated diastolic hypertension (IDH) is increasingly recognized as a distinct ambulatory phenotype characterized by elevated diastolic pressure despite preserved systolic values [1, 2]. Historically considered relatively low risk—particularly in younger populations−IDH was often viewed as a transitional or benign state because earlier epidemiologic models emphasized systolic pressure as the primary determinant of cardiovascular events [3-6].
