1. Introduction Chikungunya fever is an infectious disease caused by chikungunya virus (CHIKV)-infected Aedes mosquitoes [1,2]. The clinical manifestations of CHIKV infection are fever, rash, and especially polyarthralgia/polyarthritis, which can last from weeks to months [3]. This can lead to a misdiagnosis of CHIIKV infection as dengue. Early and accurate CHIKV infection diagnoses can contribute to a decrease in the disease burden in terms of the economy, society, and quality of life [4].
