1. Introduction Acupotomy, a popular therapeutic tool in traditional East Asian medicine (TEAM), was first created by Zhu Hanzhang in 1976. It combines two types of needles: Bongchim (sharp-edged needle) and Pichim (sword-like needle) [1,2,3]. Unlike traditional acupuncture needles, acupotomy features a surgical blade with a flat tip. This modern technique is regarded for its ease of use, effectiveness, and minimal invasiveness.
