4.1. Dilute Gas Limit Accurate modeling of dilute-gas transport properties is essential for understanding fluid transport phenomena, because the most accurate experimental data for transport properties are generally available in the dilute-gas regime. Moreover, the dilute-gas contribution often becomes dominant at elevated temperatures. Figure 5 illustrates, using CO 2 as an example, the fractional contribution of the dilute-gas term to the total viscosity at different temperatures.

New energy-efficient refrigerants are required, and accurate property data for them are needed to design and operate new HVAC equipment using the new refrigerants.

The temo library is a set of building blocks that facilitate the automation of fitting models to experimental data for thermodynamic properties. The library is written in Python to enable broad re‐use and is based upon the suite of thermodynamic equations of state and modeling tools available in the teqp library. The flexibility of the provided methods allow the user to extend the capabilities of temo for their own particular problems.
