How climate vulnerability and the digital divide are linked
The ultimate goal, Sanders says, is for residents to be able to tackle or mitigate whatever comes their way next, without any further help from her organization. Sanders, a Louisiana native, knows what it feels like to have a disaster upend your world: in 2005, she was at home in New Orleans getting ready for her first semester of law school when Hurricane Katrina made landfall.
Should Monaco still hold a jewel in F1's crown?
WORDS BY IAN PAGE | IMAGES BY RED BULL / MERCEDES It is widely considered that Monaco is considered the jewel in Formula 1’s crown. It’s the race when everything that embodies F1 comes together. Sunshine and champagne, the jet-setting hoi polloi gliding round the paddock in linen suits which cost as much as the cars they glide round in.
The music of isolation: conductor Ian Page on 18th century 'Sturm und Drang'
My latest recording with The Mozartists is the first in a seven-volume series [reviewed by Graham Rickson in his Classical CDs Weekly column] exploring the so-called “Sturm und Drang” (literally translated, “storm and stress”) movement that swept through music and other art forms between the early 1760s and the early 1780s.

'A product not only of his era but also of his travels': Ian Page on Mozart's cosmopolitan education
When Mozart was an established composer living in Vienna during the final years of his short life, a young student seemingly came to him to seek his advice. The would-be young composer said that he was planning to write a symphony, and asked Mozart what advice he could give to him. Mozart replied that a symphony was a complex undertaking, and suggested that the youngster should first write a few keyboard sonatas and string quartets before undertaking an orchestral work.
Ford Won't Sell the Focus Active in America Thanks to Trump's Tariffs
Earlier this year, Ford announced an audacious plan to move away from passenger cars, instead focusing the entire brand on trucks, crossovers, and utility vehicles, along with the Mustang. That meant that while the United States wouldn't get the Focus, it would get the Focus Active, a lifted, crossover-y version that would be imported from Ford's factory in China. Unfortunately, that's no longer the case.

BMW Profit Margins Trail Suzuki's
The report isn't comprehensive across the entire automotive industry. Ernst & Young, the firm that compiled the data, looked at only the 16 largest automakers. That means boutique automakers and supercar manufacturers, some of which you'd suspect operate at huge margins, weren't included. It also doesn't mean that Suzuki is the automaker with the most profit, only that it makes the highest percentage of profit on operations. Toyota can lay claim to the most profit of any automaker.
The Best Burnouts of the Woodward Dream Cruise
The Dream Cruise effectively transforms Woodward Avenue into a rolling muscle-car showcase. It’s a scene. People set up on the side of the road with tents, chairs, and coolers that are definitely only filled with LaCroix and not beer to watch the cars, which may or may not be street legal, drive by.

Mozart in London
At the start of 2015 we launched MOZART 250, our 27-year chronological journey through Mozart’s life, works and influences. One of the flagship projects in the first year was a whole weekend of concerts exploring Mozart’s childhood visit to London, and we are now releasing a CD of live recordings from these concerts. This was the first proper exploration of the music that the eight-year-old wunderkind might have heard during his stay, and the 2-CD set includes over a dozen premiere recordings.
