Tom Atcheson marked his first international start with a goal but was then sent off as Northern Ireland edged out Guinea 1-0 in a friendly. The 19-year-old Blackburn defender gave Northern Ireland an early lead as he broke through the Guinea defence to flick home Paul Smyth’s cross just nine minutes in. However, what had been a solid performance from the youngster was cut short in the 72nd minute when he brought down Abdoul Karim Traore as the last man to see red.
