The gradual instrumentalization of sport as a tool for international image projection by states, companies, entities, and sports organizations has fostered new discussions and critical research on the use of the so-called “3 Ss” of the sports sphere: soft power, sportswashing and sports diplomacy (Bettine, 2024).

Encuentro Latinoamericano (ELA), a journal affiliated to the International Association for Political Science Students (IAPSS), invites the academic community to submit papers for evaluation and possible publication in the dossier “Public Planning in Latin America – models, capacities and experiences”.
