Supine MDS-UPDRS-III Assessment: An Explorative Study

Abstract : The Movement Disorder Society Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale—part III (MDS-UPDRS-III) is designed to be applied in the sitting position. However, to evaluate the clinical effect during stereotactic neurosurgery or to assess bedridden patients with Parkinson’s disease (PD), the MDS-UPDRS-III is often used in a supine position. This explorative study evaluates the agreement of the MDS-UPDRS-III in the sitting and the supine positions.
