Two studies recently published in Science Immunology address how well vaccine-induced immune memory can recognize and respond to breakthrough infections with the SARS-CoV-2 Omicron BA.1 variant (1, 2). The COVID-19 pandemic has presented the global population with multiple challenges over the past two years.
