Cyclopropenes are a fascinating class of strained, three-membered carbocyclic compounds characterized by the presence of a highly reactive carbon–carbon double bond. Their unique structural features, including significant ring strain (approximately 55 kcal/mol) and enhanced π-orbital bending, contribute to their remarkable reactivity, making them valuable intermediates in organic synthesis.
