A Comparison between Open and Minimally Invasive Techniques for the Resection of Colorectal Liver Metastasis
3. Results During the study period, 51 patients underwent surgery for the first occurrence of colorectal adenocarcinoma liver metastasis. One patient had a stroke on postoperative day 3, causing death, and was therefore excluded from the short-term outcomes analysis. A total of 40 patients were treated with an open technique and 10 with a minimally invasive approach (6 laparoscopically assisted and 4 robotic assisted). Patient characteristics are shown in Table 1.
