Illya Ovchar

Illya Ovchar is a fashion photographer based in Munich. For him, photography means painting with light, just as its Greek roots suggest. He can't tell you the latest camera rumours, but he can go on forever about light. In his fashion work, Illya aims to tell stories with clothes and light.

I first picked up a camera when I was 15 and soon began photographing people, a subject that remains central to my work. Beginning with film photography, I immersed myself in classic methods of image-making, which taught me the importance of creating the perfect photograph. My work has graced such magazines as Marie Claire and Moevir Paris.

Transitioning to digital photography, I began to shoot commercially. My technical understanding of photography ensures that the image meets and exceeds client expectation.

I am determined to create the perfect image, even if it means carrying 100+kg of equipment on location. With a can-do approach, I deliver images of uncompromising quality- on time and within budget.
