Discussion To the best of our knowledge, this is the first study to specifically characterise the phenotype of untreated patients with SSc-ILD and to study them in terms of progression. Three quarters of patients in our combined cohort from two centres with expertise in the management of SSc-ILD patients did not receive treatment at baseline. These results are consistent with previously unselected cohorts.
