Článok je súčasťou rubriky Veda, výskum - naša šanca. Čo sú baktérie? Baktérie sú všadeprítomné, väčšinou voľne žijúce organizmy, ktoré sa skladajú z jednej bunky. Často sa však organizujú medzi sebou, ako aj s inými druhmi baktérií, do väčších zoskupení, napríklad vo forme biofilmov. Baktérie s dĺžkou niekoľkých mikrometrov boli medzi prvými formami života, ktoré sa objavili na Zemi, a sú prítomné vo väčšine jej biotopov.

Abstract The European X-ray Free Electron Laser (XFEL) and Linac Coherent Light Source (LCLS) II are extremely intense sources of X-rays capable of generating Serial Femtosecond Crystallography (SFX) data at megahertz (MHz) repetition rates. Previous work has shown that it is possible to use consecutive X-ray pulses to collect diffraction patterns from individual crystals.
