1 Introduction Polycythemia vera (PV) is a chronic myeloproliferative neoplasm (MPN) driven by JAK2 mutations, most commonly JAK2V617F. It is characterized by erythropoiesis, often accompanied by leukocytosis and/or thrombocytosis along with a range of burdensome symptoms such as microvascular symptoms, pruritus, fatigue, nocturnal sweating, and bone pain [1]. Patients are at risk for both disease progression and thrombosis, leading to reduced survival [2-5].

INTRODUCTION For decades, the diagnosis of multiple myeloma (MM) required the presence of end-organ damage attributed to the underlying plasma cell disorder, known as the Calcium elevation, Renal impairment, Anemia, Bone disease (CRAB) criteria.1 The CRAB criteria include increased calcium level, renal dysfunction, anaemia and destructive bone lesions.
