1. Introduction Spent brewer’s yeast (SBY) accounts for about 15% of total byproducts generated during beer production [1]. According to available data from Statista [2], 1.86 billion hectoliters of beer were produced worldwide in 2021. It is estimated that 0.00015–0.0003 kg of SBY is produced per hectoliter of beer, resulting in a production of 279,000 to 558,000 kg of SBY in 2021.
