Beauty salon run by former nurse reaches final of national awards

An aesthetics salon has earned national recognition as a finalist in an awards show. Coastal Beauty Aesthetics, based in Blakeney, has been shortlisted in two categories, Best for Aesthetics and Best Home Salon, at the UK Hair and Beauty Awards 2026. The salon was launched by Rebecca Barden, who used to work as a nurse at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

MP sues Elon Musk's AI company over fake bikini pictures

A Suffolk MP is suing Elon Musk's AI company after she said its chatbot was used to manipulate photos to portray her in a bikini. MP Jess Asato, who represents Lowestoft and Beccles, is taking legal action against xAI, the company operating the Grok AI chatbot. She had publicly condemned the AI programme after it emerged that it was used to create sexualised, non-consensual content targeting thousands of women and children.

North Norfolk beach named among most 'startlingly beautiful' in the UK

A white sand beach in north Norfolk has been named among the best in the country. Holkham beach has been listed yet again as one of the best "startlingly beautiful" white sand beaches by writers at The Telegraph. The accolade was down to the beach's wide expanses of sand and dunes lined by pine trees, which have previously been likened to somewhere more exotic. Its importance to local wildlife was highlighted as it is a breeding ground for terns, oystercatchers and ringed plovers.
