There are a number of established risk models and tools for predicting morbidity and mortality in people with chronic heart failure.1,2 They facilitate prediction of events within a specific population by utilizing characteristics to estimate the risk of an event occurring. Accurate quantification of risk for a particular individual, based on that individual’s own characteristics, allows a clinician to tailor counselling and treatment.
