Irene North’s Biography

I am a semi-retired reporter and photographer. I am a native New Yorker living in western Nebraska.

I maintain my own website, write on Substack, and have a podcast about the history of western Nebraska.

I have written two magazines for the Star-Herald. The first was about solar eclipses in preparation for the 2017 total solar eclipse. The second was on the history of Fort Robinson. I also wrote a book at the Star-Herald commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Scotts Bluff National Monument.

I have won awards in the AP Regional contest, the National Federation of Press Women, the Nebraska Press Association, and Nebraska Press Women.
