Introduction Interstitial lung diseases (ILDs), despite being a large group of diverse disorders, are grouped together since they are invariably characterized by inflammation and/or fibrosis of the lung parenchyma (1). Affected patients often have similar symptoms including cough and breathlessness. While some ILDs share overlapping radiological and histopathological features, there is a wide range of natural histories and responses to treatment across the ILD spectrum.
