LR goalkeeper Joe Bickerstaffe collided with Padiham’s Jack Price and the referee awarded a penalty eight minutes in. Joel Brownhill scored from the spot to put the Storks ahead. Late in the first half, Freddie Machell was put through one-on-one with Bickerstaffe.

Player of the Month, Harvey Brookes in action against Charnock Richard. Picture by Paul Jackson Atherton LR suffered their first loss of 2026 with a 2-1 defeat to Charnock Richard on Saturday. Atherton drew first blood 11 minutes in when Tom Romano went past his man with a step over which gave him the space he needed in the box to unleash a well-placed finish. Charnock levelled the scoring through Matthew Westwell in the middle of the second half.

Picture by Paul Butterfield Dave Jones celebrated a new contract extension as boss of Atherton LR with 5-0 demolition job of Euxton Villa in NWCFL Premier Division on Tuesday night. It was a quick start from Atherton when, only four minutes in, Harvey Sample lobbed the keeper toward the back post, where Dave Moore was waiting to smash it into an open net.
