WESTFIELD, NJ — Need a bag? Take a bag. Got extra bags? Give bags. That’s the idea behind the Westfield McKinley Elementary School’s second grade girl Scout Brownie Troop’s reusable bag “library.” The outdoor covered shelves, similar to a Little Free Library book exchange, is located in the Trader Joe’s parking lot on Elm Street. The troop’s 14 members met with Mayor Shelley Brindle on June 2 to celebrate the library's opening, capping off a months-long project aimed at giving back to the community.
