Interview
How is social media changing news?
Immensely! We definitely get it a lot quicker! You just have to be careful of what's being reported sometimes.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Can't really think of any from the top of my head but does Carrie Bradshaw count??
What does it mean to be a journalist?
It means being timely on your stories, sending them in by deadline. Being precise and accurate of your facts.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
Email!
What's your favorite social network?
It's a toss between Instagram and Twitter. There are days where I prefer Instagram, vice versa.
Who do you wish followed you?
I'm assuming this means a Twitter follow? Probably Tori Kelly! I adore her songwriting and authenticity. She's one of my absolute favorites!
Why did you become a journalist?
My passion and drive for music/entertainment news. I enjoy sharing music that I love and getting word out about new releases.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I had the pleasure of interviewing James S. Murray from The Impractical Jokers for a college course I took in entertainment journalism!
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
This industry is competitive. Don't ever give up on your dreams no matter how frustrating it could be to get your foot in the door.
What's your favorite drink?
Iced coffee, bubble tea and as far as alcoholic beverages go as long as it's fruity haha!
When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?
I love attending concerts and broadway shows!
Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?
Billboard.com! It's my dream to write for them one day!
