Ivan Šimić is a journalist and author with more than eight years of experience reporting on technology, media, and the gaming industry. His work has appeared in leading outlets such as Esports Insider, Netokracija, IBC.org and Esports.net, where he wrote about various topics, ranging from grassroots local esports leagues to high-level partnerships and tournaments. As an owner of a content writing business, he worked with notable brands in the esports, gaming, production and betting industries on writing blog and website content and newsletters.
As a longtime editor and contributor to the A1 Adria League, the region’s biggest esports competition, Ivan has been at the centre of Croatian esports as an insider and collaborator. He has interviewed industry leaders, covered major deals, and provided critical insight into the growth of esports ecosystems across Europe and globally. During his time at Esports Insider, Ivan wrote more than 1000 articles about esports topics, had his work featured in several editions of the print magazine The Esports Journal, and was the author of the Angels and Unicorns newsletter, focused on esports mergers and acquisitions.
Today, Ivan works as a freelance author and content writer for several outlets, and is working on his passion project, a blog about driving in Croatia called On the Road Croatia.
