In the last three decades, numerous quantitative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) methods have been developed, and many potential clinical applications have been suggested. However, clinical translation has been limited mainly due to the lack of standardization and reproducibility. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has organized workshops to work with experts towards the standardization of quantitative MRI methods and thus help improve clinical translation.
