Recent advancements in catalytic peroxidation of alkenes: Synthetic approach and process optimization
In recent years, functionalization of simple alkenes has developed into a powerful tool for generation of highly functionalized skeletons in organic synthesis [1,2]. In the past ten years, chemists have mainly focused on the addition of carbon- and heteroatom-centered radicals to π systems, including C C, C O, and C N double bonds, which serve as radical acceptors.
Synthesis of itaconyl dichloride with high purity and its application to polycondensation
Plastics have established their position in our daily lives and in industry in the last century. However, nowadays, they face a number of issues, including environmental pollution [[1], [2], [3]], consumption of fossil resources [4,5], and poor capacity of resource circulation [[6], [7], [8], [9]]. Biobased polymers are attractive for solving these problems, and research has been conducted to replace synthetic monomers with those prepared from renewable resources [[10], [11], [12], [13], [14]].
A multi‐agent reinforcement learning model for maintenance optimization of interdependent highway pavement networks
1 INTRODUCTION Road networks play a vital role in providing mobility for people and goods and ensuring accessibility to a variety of locations and services. However, road pavements are continuously subjected to repeated traffic loads and various climatic conditions, resulting in an inevitable deterioration in pavement performance (Guo et al., 2021; Madanat, 1993). To restore pavement functionality, periodic maintenance and rehabilitation (M&R) are required (Z.
Potassiophilic α-MoC anchored on 3D carbon host enables uniform potassium nucleation and super-stable potassium metal anodes
For the resource of potassium (K) element (∼2.09 wt%) is much more abundant in the Earth’s crust than that of Li (∼0.0017 wt%) [1], [2], [3], the low price of metallic K makes potassium-ion batteries (PIBs) more valuable in large-scale energy storage systems [4], [5], [6]. More than that, with the weaker Lewis acidity, K+ has a smaller Stokes radius than Li+ (3.6 A vs 4.8 A) [7], [8], [9], which endows higher ionic mobility and conductivity, giving PIBs an excellent prospect.

Enhanced charge density wave with mobile superconducting vortices in La1.885Sr0.115CuO4 - Nature Communications
Abstract Superconductivity in the cuprates is found to be intertwined with charge and spin density waves. Determining the interactions between the different types of order is crucial for understanding these important materials. Here, we elucidate the role of the charge density wave (CDW) in the prototypical cuprate La1.885Sr0.115CuO4, by studying the effects of large magnetic fields (H) up to 24 Tesla.

3:45 PM Abstract No. 369 Safety and efficacy of empiric embolization for upper and lower gastrointestinal hemorrhage: a single-institution experience
To view the full text, please login as a subscribed user or purchase a subscription. Click here to view the full text on ScienceDirect. Embolization represents a standard of care for gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding. However, there is limited data on its efficacy in the setting of positive radiologic or endoscopic imaging and negative angiography. Here, we assess outcomes, complications, and perioperative variables influencing efficacy of empiric embolization for GI bleeding.

Efficacy and safety of guselkumab in patients with psoriasis who have an inadequate response to ustekinumab: results of the randomized, double-blind, phase III NAVIGATE trial - Langley - 2018 - British Journal of Dermatology - Wiley Online Library
Psoriasis is a chronic disease causing red and scaling skin lesions. Current treatments, especially biologics, which are either given by injection or intravenous infusion (IV), are very effective in the treatment of moderate to severe plaque psoriasis. However, most patients look to achieve clear skin, so there is room for improvement. One approved biologic, ustekinumab, blocks two of the body's internal proteins, interleukin (IL)-12 and IL-23.
The vinylogous Catellani reaction: a combined computational and experimental study
In the presence of 5 mol% Pd(OAc)2, 1 equiv. of norbornene, and K2CO3, the reaction of 4-iodo-2-quinolones with tertiary o-bromobenzylic alcohols produced the desired benzopyran-fused 2-quinolones in moderate to high yields. A Catellani-type mechanism involving vinylic C–H cleavage is proposed based on the results of control experiments and density functional theory calculations.

First-in-human study of AC0010, a novel irreversible, mutant-selective EGFR inhibitor in patients with 1st generation EGFR TKI-resistant non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)
Background: AC0010 (Avitinib) is a third generation irreversible EGFR inhibitor. Overcoming T790M-induced resistance by AC0010 has been demonstrated in preclinical studies. This is a first-in-human dose escalation study of AC0010 in EGFR-TKIs resistant patients (NCT02274337). Methods: NSCLC patients with EGFR positive mutation who developed resistance to the 1st generation EGFR TKIs were enrolled including both T790M positive and negative patients.
