In Situ Measurements of Ice and Snow Emissivity in the Far‐Infrared
1 Introduction The emissivity of a surface is the ratio between the electromagnetic radiation emitted by that surface and the radiation it would emit if acting as a blackbody. Every material has its own emissivity which can depend on the angle of emission, wavelength, and microphysical properties. A good knowledge of Earth's surface emissivity is key for understanding Earth's energy budget, which is a vital determinant of Earth's climate and its evolution.

Building a Worldbuilding Tool with Flutter
In my writing experience both as a Game Master and a short fiction author, I have found Worldbuilding to be the core of immersive storytelling — whether you're writing epic fantasy novels, designing tabletop RPGs, or crafting game lore. I have found myself juggling everything between notebooks (seriously you should see my physical collection - and yes I have a problem as a notebook hoarder; and no I am not ashamed), digital .txt files and folded pieces of paper.

Memory Center Launches Rapid Access to Alzheimer's Treatment
AVENTURA, Fla. - Aug. 23, 2024 - -- Alzheimer's disease is an explosive epidemic. According to data from the Institute for Clinical and Economic Review, over 4.6 million Americans suffer from the beginnings of this brain-ravaging condition. As our population ages, this number will rise exponentially. Unfortunately, less than half of these individuals come to medical attention. Progression of the mild stage can occur in as little as two years.
Building my first “Brand”
And my first year plan to do it There is generally a lot to say and do at the beginning of a grandiose project — especially in today’s age where ‘brand building’ is the cornerstone to growth in almost any regard. This is only the beginning. The first steps; and I know it may seem like I am talking as if I know exactly what to do, but frankly I have no idea. These are also my first steps. But just as well, one cannot panic and lose sight over the big picture in front of oneself.
I had an epiphany
There is something I had been working on for a while now — a long while. I built a world and used it to play Dungeons and Dragons. Nerdy, yes, but I love fantasy and world building. Especially a world that I could “see” developed and come to life in front of me with the help of some friends. But then — life happened and blessed me with children. My time to continue seeing the world I had made in front of me was put on hold. But that didn’t stop me.
The Dark Side of Carbon dioxide
There is so much people don't know about Carbon dioxide - and I don't mean the usual "Plants need it or they will die". At its core, Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a colorless, odorless gas composed of one carbon atom and two oxygen atoms. Simple. Terrifying. It's naturally present in Earth's atmosphere and is vital for sustaining life on our planet. CO2 plays a significant role in the carbon cycle, a process where carbon is exchanged among the atmosphere, oceans, soil, plants, and animals.
I participated in my first Game Jam
Now - hold on, sit tight and allow me to explain: As someone heavily invested in their (seemingly too many) projects - game development is something woven into the very fabric of all of my fiction writing. I merely created a world from the ground up and wish to have it shown in every way I can imagine - but mostly because I am fascinated in seeing it come alive in a way where everyone can access and experience it in one way or another. This is my way of making my world come to life.

The NEW Alzheimer's FDA Approved Medication
AVENTURA, Fla. - July 3, 2024 - -- Are you familiar with Kisunla, the newly FDA-approved medication for Alzheimer's disease? The Food and Drug Administration approved Eli Lilly's Kisunla (donanemab) earlier this week for mild or early cases of dementia caused by Alzheimer's. It's only the second drug that's been convincingly shown to delay cognitive decline in patients, following last year's approval of a similar drug from Japanese drugmaker Eisai. Kisunla slowed cognitive decline by up to 35%.

Equivalent Exchange (Teaser)
Chapter One of the coming Duology Series The once grand throne room was now a decaying shell of its former self, bathed in a dull, ominous orange as the sun sank below the horizon. Neglect and abandonment had ravaged the space, leaving it unkempt and in disrepair. The brilliantly designed blue and silver laced tapestries that hung from the wooden ceiling banisters had faded and showed signs of wear, despite being untouched.

Chapter 5 - Glimpse of the Unthinkable
Book Four of Ley-Line Origins “How…?” The sphinx shrank backwards. A dense pool of saturated light exploded and swirled around him in a dazzling display. “Allow me to tell you something sphinx,” Rhein said as he measured the size of the gigantic fireball in front of his hand. The light then pushed outward surrounding both he, and the fireball.

He closed his eyes, lifting his arms and channeling his concentration. Delicate threads of shimmering blue light materialized, swirling and spiraling around him. The magical energy pulsated, exhibiting an ethereal dance of exuberance within the realm they now inhabited…
Chapter 3 - Glimpse of the Unthinkable
Chapter 3 — Glimpse of the Unthinkable Book Four of Ley-Line Origins Official eBook Cover for Glimpse of the Unthinkable Rhein found himself falling heavily onto the sandy ground with his knees. His head still muddled from using the portal. The region appeared sandy, yet humid, with no visible water source in sight. “If only Dimir were here to revel in the discovery,” Rhein said, peering back to the burned runes that were etched into the ground.
Chapter 2 - Glimpse of the Unthinkable
Book Four of Ley-Line Origins Instinctively, Rhein clutched his chest, feeling a tightness constricting around his heart. The very air was suddenly arduous to breathe, and further assaulted by blistering gusts of wind. The searing heat only exacerbated his discomfort. Once again, disbelief washed over him as he beheld the surreal sight unfolding before him. A colossal shadow traversed the clouds crackling with lightning. It bore the semblance of six wings and a long, sinuous tail.

The Secret behind “Genius”
That which lies beyond shadow of consciousness. A genius is one who “claimed” dominion over the 10,000 hour rule of mastery without distraction, as if posessed by a self-determined force. Though, in actuality, they merely breathed the actions necessary to reach the goal. Yes — they did it without realizing it. Are you actively aware of yourself when you breathe? Yes, I actually asked that question.
What makes an expert an expert?
The concept of 10,000 hours to reach “mastery” Malcom Gladwell states mastery is not born, but created, and to reach such heights must acquire 10,000 hours of practice to reach true expertise of any subject matter. In effect, this is not incorrect. However, the practice must be done correctly. The rule can only be made true IF a devotion or focus toward a cause or goal is found toward the subject of interest.
Chapter 3 - The Sin of Innocence (End)
Book Three of Ley-Line Origins Once again, something he couldn’t believe. “Where are your horns then, hmm?” Aalangcor said in disbelief. The sarcasm almost made him scoff. “I had them shaved down, they got in the way. Many in the military do this,” Samhuk said plainly as he stepped his way outside. The triplet moons cast a bright glow through the shattered window, illuminating the gaping hole where Aalangcor’s sister had been tossed. Despite the horror before him, he found himself unable to turn away.
Chapter 2 - The Sin of Innocence
Book Three of Ley-Line Origins Aalangcor’s ears perked up as he heard a faint sound, resembling footsteps, but muffled like the soft snow of the north. The place where his ‘kind’ hailed from. The top floor of the house where he resided with his sister was not very spacious and had been deserted since their arrival some years earlier. Despite the few candles that illuminated the space, Aalangcor and his sister often felt as if they were not alone.

Chapter 13 (End) - Arcane Thief
Book One of Ley-Line Origins “Too scared to move eh, boy?” The butcher hollered as he crashed into Erzo’s body. Surprise befell the butcher’s face when he realized he fell through it. Face first into the cold, hard road. Erzo’s body fell apart and dispersed in a puff of snowflakes. Eyes wide, the butcher picked up some snow and crushed it in his hands. He stood furiously, twisting his head left and right to look for him. He noticed the girl was gone too.
Chapter 12 - Arcane Thief
Book One of Ley-Line Origins The large man turned in his direction to walk toward the other small person. That bastard, Erzo realized. That old man turned his sights onto the siblings and the brother paid the price Erzo would have if he weren’t so lucky months ago. Erzo’s fists were spilling blood onto the cobbled street corner. A pain he ignored to the fullest. Mana began to leak out of him in multiple colors. Beating him was one thing, but those kids were harmless.
Chapter 11 - Arcane Thief
Book One of Ley-Line Origins The guards around the city’s outer gates did as all bored humans did and tried to find ways to occupy their time. Usually with card games. Very few people enjoy the night shift in the cold months. Sometimes they would put out tents to ensure there was a place to keep warm for more energized guard duty. However, the finances for the military faction were cut thanks to the king and his obsession with his daughter’s health.
Chapter 10 - Arcane Thief
Book One of Ley-Line Origins As a few days of reading Vega’s pages turned to weeks. And weeks of practice seemed to become months, Erzo soon realized he was now thirteen years old. With age comes wisdom, and he felt much different than he did when he first entered the forest. Almost like a new person entirely. He could remember Vega shouting orders and insults at him to shake his resolve during meditation.
Chapter 9 - Arcane Thief
Book One of Ley-Line Origins “Stupid boy,” a voice called out to him. Erzo flinched from the noise, then slowly opened his eyes again to find a pair of golden eyes gleaming at him. The sight startled him to his feet before he recognized the voice. “Grimoire?” Erzo responded deliriously. “Am I dead?” “No, but you should be for being stupid. You are currently asleep in the middle of the forest.
Demonstration of a hydrodynamically equivalent burning plasma in direct-drive inertial confinement fusion - Nature Physics
Abstract Focussing laser light onto the surface of a small target filled with deuterium and tritium implodes it and leads to the creation of a hot and dense plasma, in which thermonuclear fusion reactions occur. In order for the plasma to become self-sustaining, the heating of the plasma must be dominated by the energy provided by the fusion reactions—a condition known as a burning plasma. A metric for this is the generalized Lawson parameter, where values above around 0.8 imply a burning plasma.
