Inicialmente dominados por las fibras de acero, los HRF han incorporado el uso de macrofibras sintéticas, especialmente en Latinoamérica donde se utiliza en el revestimiento de túneles.

1 INTRODUCTION According to the World Health Organization, approximately 17.5% of the adult population worldwide suffers from infertility problems (WHO, 2023). Knowing the etiology of infertility allows the use of appropriate assisted reproduction methods to treat the disease. In low- and middle-income countries, which constitute approximately 80% of the world's population, access to these treatments is limited due to their high costs (Njagi et al., 2023).
