Jack Andrade’s Biography

Jack Andrade is a 22-year-old sports writer, storyteller, and digital media savant. He graduated from Emerson College in Boston with a 3.6 G.P.A. in 2015, and has multiple years of experience producing digital content at a professional level.

In 2015, he completed a six month co-op at Boston.com, working in the sports department. At Boston.com, he reported, aggregated, and copy edited dozens of stories each week. He also helped manage several social media sites while at Boston.com, and assisted in slotting content across the home page, sports page, and various team pages. Numerous articles written by Jack wound up being the most-read stories on the Boston.com site in a given day.

Prior to joining Boston.com, Jack worked for the startup digital news company GoLocal24 and its two New England-based news sites, GoLocalProv.com and GoLocalWorcester.com for a period of 10 months. What began as a freelancing position covering high school sports in Rhode Island and Central Massachusetts grew into a beat reporting opportunity covering the University of Rhode Island men’s basketball team, and then a full-time position in the summer of 2014. Jack expanded his reporting into news, business, and investigative reporting as well as sports, and he also managed and edited incoming content from freelancers. He also assisted in managing the social media platforms for GoLocalProv and GoLocalWorcester.

While in college, Jack and three friends started Standingosports.com, a sports news and commentary site managed in the spare time of four full-time students. Standingosports was picked up by Fox Sports via the Yardbarker Network, which helped drive additional traffic and increase revenue on the site. At its peak, Standingosports.com reached over 60,000 visitors in a single month.

Jack has experience in radio, both as a host at Emerson’s WECB station and as a featured guest on various sports talk programs in the Northeast. At WECB, Jack helped found a pair of sports talk shows and planned, wrote, and produced a two-hour show each week. His work at Boston.com caught the eye of radio producers at ESPN Radio affiliates in Rochester, New York and Bangor, Maine, and he became a regular guest on those stations. Jack also appeared in studio as a guest on WRKO in Boston.
