Royals sweep Orioles to advance to ALDS
Bring on the Yankees! For the second-straight day, the Royals and Orioles battled in a pitcher's duel. Fortunately for Kansas City, it was the same outcome - putting the Royals in the ALDS for the first time since 2015. The offense got off to a much better start on Wednesday afternoon. After Michael Massey led off the game with a double, Vinnie Pasquantino drove him in on an RBI-single to right field. With that slim lead, Seth Lugo began to settle in.

Royals snap losing streak with 1-0 win in extras
THEY SCORED A RUN! After a week of losing baseball, the Royals found a way to win in extras with a 1-0 victory over the Nationals. The win snaps a seven-game slide that began last Sunday. The game was nothing but a pitcher's duel for the first nine innings. Cole Ragans shoved for six scoreless innings and Washington starter Mitchell Parker shut out Kansas City in five innings of work. Unlike Ragans, Parker dealt with a lot of danger on the bases.

Tigers sweep Royals with 4-2 win
They hold a playoff spot by 3 games with the tiebreaker. With the tall task of facing soon-to-be Cy Young winner Tarik Skubal, the Royals fell in the series finale to the Tigers 4-2. The sweep dwindles Kansas City 's Wild Card lead to three games over Detroit with the tiebreaker. Going into Wednesday night, the Royals had a lot of success in facing Skubal throughout his career. In fact, they tagged him for a season-high five runs in the previous meeting.

Lugo shines in 5-0 win over Yankees
Can't look much better than that! Behind a dazzling start from Seth Lugo, the Royals evened up the series with a 5-0 shutout over the Yankees. It's Kansas City 's third shutout in the last week. Even though Lugo didn't need much run support on Tuesday, the Royals made sure Yankees starter Marcus Stroman was dealing with a lot of base runners. After failing to cash in during the first two innings, Kansas City finally broke through in the third.

Losing streak gets to seven in loss against Cleveland
Denny Medley-Imagn Images The bad week of baseball continued on Tuesday night as the Royals were thumped by Cleveland 7-1. It extends the losing streak to seven games with 22 to go. The offense remained quiet for the better part of five innings against Guardians right-hander Tanner Bibee. On the other hand, Brady Singer wasn’t too bad himself. Despite a bases-loaded jam in the second inning that led to Cleveland’s first run, Singer was pretty good.

Royals move to first place with win over Guardians
Get off the tracks! Despite a lengthy rain delay in the bottom of the fifth inning, the Royals didn't lose steam in a 6-1 win over the Guardians. The win not only puts them in first place, but clinches the season series against Cleveland. Things got off to a quick start for Kansas City. Following a scoreless first, Paul DeJong woke up the offense with a two-run blast to the opposite field. It was DeJong's 23rd long ball of the season.

Ugly sixth inning leads to a 9-5 loss
Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports After their 5-3 win on Monday night, the Royals squandered an opportunity to take the series with Cole Ragans on the mound on Tuesday. The loss snaps a 5-game winning streak for Kansas City. It was quiet for the first three innings of the game with two All-Stars on the bump. It wasn’t until Kevin Pillar poked a 69 mph RBI-double down the left field line to make it 1-0. Moments later, Anthony Rendon popped a SAC-fly to left field to push the lead to two.

Royals blasted by Twins 13-3
That was never pretty. Things never looked good for the Royals on Tuesday night as they were blasted by the Minnesota Twins 13-3. The loss puts them in jeopardy of a sweep tomorrow afternoon. The game spiraled for Kansas City in the bottom of the first inning. Following a lead-off double from Willi Castro, the Twins plated three runs on a single and throwing error from Maikel Garcia. The Royals, however, answered back in the top of the second on a long home run off the bat of MJ Melendez.

Royals fall short in 6-5 loss to Boston
Ouch. After their disappointing showing in Game 1 against Boston, the Royals' comeback fell short in a 6-5 loss to the Red Sox. It shrinks the Wild Card lead down to 0.5 games. Things started well for Kansas City in the bottom of the first inning. After a 114 mph double from Bobby Witt Jr, Vinnie Pasquantino ripped an RBI single to make it 1-0. That lead, however, was immediately given up in the top of the second - headlined by an error by Michael Massey.

Royals lose on a Tuesday…again
Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports Coming into the night, the Royals hadn’t won a game on a Tuesday night since May 21st. That streak continued as Kansas City dropped Game 2 to Arizona 6-2. The Royals didn’t get off on the right foot in the top of the first. Alec Marsh, in his first start of the second half, loaded the bases with nobody out. The D-backs didn’t struggle to take advantage as they plated three runs on a sacrifice fly and two-run single from Gabriel Moreno.

Isbel saves the Royals in 4-2 win
Peter Aiken-USA TODAY Sports After falling in the series opener last night, the Royals bounced back with a 4-2 win thanks to a brilliant outing from Michael Wacha and game-saving catch from Kyle Isbel. The win clinched the season series against Tampa Bay. The Rays began the game the same way the ended last night — with lots of loud contact. In the top of the first, Isaac Paredes banged one off the foul pole in left field to make it 1-0.

Offense and bullpen struggle in 2-1 loss to Miami
Peter Aiken-USA TODAY Sports Despite another brilliant start from Seth Lugo, the Royals bullpen and offense blew it in a 2-1 loss. For the first time in a long time, Kansas City didn’t go scoreless in the first inning. Maikel Garcia, still dealing with a bad slump, led off with a walk and swiped two bags. Moments later, Vinnie Pasquantino poked an RBI-single to right field to make it 1-0. Unfortunately, that was all the offense they got.

Bad start dooms Royals in 7-5 loss
Ed Szczepanski-USA TODAY Sports For the first time in a long time, the Royals got to play an inferior opponent. Unfortunately, it didn’t matter as the Royals lost to the Athletics 7-5. The tone was set from the start as Alec Marsh was tagged for two runs in the bottom of the first. This, of course, came after his 7-shutout innings against the New York Yankees. Kansas City, however, didn’t waste time in tying things up.

After falling in Game 1 on Monday afternoon, the Royals did the same in front of a small crowd at Target Field on Tuesday night by a score of 4-2. The loss makes it three-in-a-row for the third time this season. Cole Ragans was the starter grabbing the ball in hopes of tying up the series.
