For years, detailed collision location data was not publicly available in an easily searchable format, following concerns around privacy and GDPR compliance. The data had been unavailable for almost six years before the Road Safety Authority (RSA) recently restored an interactive map showing where road traffic collisions causing injury or death have happened across Ireland between 2016 and 2024.

Several days after the United States first launched strikes on Iran, the White House published a video on its official social media accounts that quickly went viral. The video opened with clips of the protagonist from the video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas before cutting to real footage of US strikes on Iranian targets. As explosions filled the screen, the familiar "WASTED" graphic from the game appeared over the footage.

Within seconds of crashing his car on a rural road in east Cork two years ago, Rory Motherway knew something was badly wrong. "I just can remember opening the door and trying to slump out and then realised, just there and then, that I actually can't move my legs," Rory says reflecting on the night his life changed. The crash happened just minutes from his home in Killeagh, as he made his way alone to the local GAA pitch to watch his brothers Dara and Barry line out for the club's footballers.
