Interview

What was your first job as a journalist?

My first journalism job was as an Editorial Intern at Milwaukee Magazine. Upon finishing my internship, I regularly worked as a freelance writer for them, which was incredibly exciting for me as a college student.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

As a Content Specialist, I rely on a range of tools to support research, writing, and optimization. For writing and collaboration, I use Google Docs and Slack daily. I also work heavily in content management systems like WordPress and rely on project management platforms, such as Asana, Hive, Jira, and Trello, to keep workflows organized. For SEO and performance insights, I use tools like Clearscope, SEMrush, and Google Search Console. These help ensure the content I create is not only well-written and empathetic, but also discoverable and strategically aligned.
