Florida enacted the most significant modernization of its nonprofit law in decades. Effective July 1, 2026, the new Florida Nonprofit Corporation Act (the "Act") makes broad changes affecting both routine governance and significant transactions for many Florida nonprofit organizations.

[1] This final revenue procedure introduces a different definition than was included in the proposed revenue procedure issued in May 2020. The latter used an "entirety of the information" standard and did not include the examples. [2] For subordinate organizations that are not required to file annual returns (primarily churches and other religious organizations), the central organization is not obligated to annually obtain and review a subordinate organization's finances or activities.

The Federal Election Commission announced updated contribution limits for the 2025-2026 election cycle: Individuals may now donate $3,500 per election to federal candidates—a more than 6% increase from the 2024 election. The primary and general elections are considered separate elections for these purposes. Married couples may contribute up to $7,000 per election. Individuals can give more to political parties too.
