Newcomer Wes Enis’ “Superpower” Setting Tone for Creighton Men’s Basketball

“Gym rat” has become a cliché phrase in basketball circles, but it’s hard to find a more appropriate label for one of the newcomers to Creighton men’s basketball, Wes Enis. The 6-foot-2 guard has spent so much time in the gym that his coaches have locked him out at every stop during his college career — from Lincoln Memorial to South Florida and now to Creighton. “I actually started at Division II with my coach, Jeremiah Samarrippas,” Enis said.

Nebraska, Creighton, Omaha and Nebraska Prep Products Compete in 2026 NBA Summer League

The NBA wrapped up its summer league on Sunday with the Golden State Warriors capturing the championship in Las Vegas. That put a bow on nearly two and a half weeks of basketball between the California Classic, the Salt Lake City Summer League and the Las Vegas Summer League, and numerous players with local ties competed during that span. Here’s a rundown of the former Cornhuskers, Bluejays and Mavericks and the Nebraska prep products who competed for NBA clubs during summer league.

Local Players Shine at 2026 OSA River Cities Hoops Grassroots Tournament

With Independence Day falling on Saturday, this year’s OSA River Cities Hoops grassroots basketball tournament had a different look to it with a Thursday-to-Saturday schedule and an entirely in-state field of teams. The holiday also resulted in short-handed rosters and some schedule quirks. Still, I tried to cover as much of the boys side of the tournament as I could throughout the three days, tracking games from 10 different organizations. Here’s a look at the best performances I saw.
