What was your first job as a journalist?
I was a reported for KCRA/NBC right out of high school in Sacramento.

No
How is social media changing news?
It's increasing the challenge of getting noticed and adding noise.
How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?
I like when the benefits are mutually outlined and you are clear with your intentions. I am very flexible.
What tools and software do you use to do your job?
Google Docs is the clear winner.

Who do you wish followed you?
I'm not one for followers, but enjoy building trusted relationships with contributing editors. I would like to be closer with the HBR team.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
Skipped this. I was on the high school news team that did video broadcasts.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
Likely a story that I am writing for HBR right now. Incredible interviews and very detailed process.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Stay true to an ethical code and don't bend to people trying to buy you.
