26 November 2025 I Newby Castleman

One minute with... Jacquelyn Kimber
There has been plenty keeping me busy since the Autumn Budget announcements. I advise quite a few non-UK domiciliaries, many of whom are the settlors or beneficiaries of offshore trusts. Press opinion has already started about adjustments to thresholds and allowances for many areas of taxation.

The Chancellor appeared keen to shed his party’s reputation as overseeing the biggest increase in the tax burden since the Second World War and used better than expected inflation figures to pull one or two rabbits out of the proverbial tax hat for businesses. Full Expensing The move to make full-expensing of capital expenditure a permanent feature of the UK tax framework was heralded by Hunt as “transformational” and the “biggest tax-cutting measure in modern history”.
