A global business has confirmed plans to create up to 200 more jobs on Teesside after relocating to a new office space. The news comes as Firstsource starts migrating its operations from Fountain Court to new offices in the flagship Centre Square development in Middlesbrough. The business process management company, which already employs 500 people in the town, currently employs 27,000 people across UK, US, India and the Philippines.

300sqm of floating pontoons could be installed at North East marina

Plans have been submitted for the installation of new floating pontoons at Hartlepool Marina, aimed at enhancing water access and leisure activities. The proposal, lodged with Hartlepool Borough Council, seeks to improve waterfront connectivity and access at Jackson's Dock. If approved, the scheme would see the addition of 300sqm of floating pontoons on the water, complemented by a new walkway and ramp linking the pontoons to the nearby public area.

Met Office extends 35-hour snow and ice warning for North East to Tuesday

The Met Office has extended its snow and ice warning for the North East, with the alert now spanning more than 35 hours. Originally scheduled to run from midnight on Sunday until midnight on Monday, January 5, the warning has been prolonged until 11am on Tuesday, January 6.
