We were excited to meet with Mr. Anthony Fabris, who has been a teacher in the Middle Country Central School District for more than 20 years. He puts up an amazing Christmas display every year to raise money for kids. He collects money for children in the Stony Brook Children’s Hospital. The lights are on starting on Dec. 1 until New Year’s Day. Mr. Fabris begins this amazing transformation during the last week in August.

We all had a pretty good year in 2018 and with the 2019 just a week away, we decided to ask kids in our school what was the best thing that happened to them this year. We surveryed 299 kids in our school and asked them to pick the top things that made them happy. Here are our results: I went on vacation: 144 I got a pet: 74 I went to a theme park: 43 I won a trophy/medal: 38 We were not that surprised with the results! So many kids love to go on vacation.

We were stoked to meet the amazing Amanda Giese from the Animal Planet TV show, “Amanda to the Rescue,” and her daughter, Jade. Amanda brought three of her dogs, Bullfrog, Groot and Garnet, to the interview and we got to play with them after our interview. We met her at the Discovery-Animal Planet offices in Manhattan. When we arrived, we sat around a big table and asked her and Jade questions about the show. Amanda was enthusiastic and loved our questions.
