Abstract New experiences are integrated with existing knowledge to update memory, which is essential for survival in a dynamic environment. Despite this updating, the brain can still access previous memories to guide appropriate behavior. How the brain organizes the retrieval of old and new memories remains unknown. Here we demonstrate a flexible memory switching mechanism in male mice, mediated by medial septum (MS) GABAergic neurons projecting to the medial entorhinal cortex (MEC).

ABSTRACT Crowding in vehicles is worse in concentrated urban areas. It is necessary to extend the public transit network, delivering travelers with a high level of service. This study aims to develop a design model of an express railway to improve mobility and relieve congestion on the existing urban rail transit network. A bi-level structure has been employed to solve the network design problem.

Abstract Engineering liquid electrolytes for lithium (Li)-metal electrodes has been used to control the morphology of deposited Li in Li-metal batteries (LMBs). However, the Li corrosion problem remains unresolved, hindering the design of lean electrolytes for practical LMBs, which require the electrolyte/capacity (E/C) ratio to be 2 g Ah−1 or lower. Here we report a borate–pyran-based electrolyte to address the chronic Li-corrosion problem.
