Introduction Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an inflammatory, demyelinating disorder of the central nervous system that affects around 2 million people worldwide, with a reported increase in prevalence in Latin America over the past 20 years, particularly in regions like Puerto Rico and Argentina.1–4 Colombia situated in the northwest of South America with a population of approximately 49 million, has very variable weather with temperatures between 8 °C in Andean regions and 32–33 °C at the coasts.
