1 Introduction Sleep deprivation has long been associated with a higher seizure risk (Rossi et al. 2020). Moreover, in the past decades, the electroencephalogram (EEG) and polysomnogram (PSG) have contributed to recognising the dynamic nature of sleep and the occurrence of seizures preferentially during certain sleep stages.

wEEG is useful for frequent 12–24-h home-based monitoring in adult patients with typical absence seizures. One EEG measurement is not sufficient to consider a patient seizure-free. Half of the patients we followed had recurrent 3-Hz SWDs of ≥3 s after one or more 24-h wEEG recordings. Including a neurologist in the workflow decreases the number of false positives and improves 3-Hz SWD detection performance.

1 BACKGROUND There is an increased prevalence of seizures and subclinical epileptiform activity (SEA) in Alzheimer's Disease (AD), even early in the disease course (Amatniek et al., 2006; Friedman et al., 2012; Horvath et al., 2021; Lam et al., 2020; Vossel et al., 2017; Vossel et al., 2013).
