Holgorsen challenging Husker running back's in second half season
LINCOLN, Neb. - Despite being banged up, Nebraska’s running back room has been a strength for the Husker offense for most of the season. However, Offensive Coordinator Dana Holgorsen didn’t mince words about what he wants to see from the group in the final five games of the regular season. He said the group, simply, has to grow up. “Suck it up and go man. They have to play better,” Holgorsen said.

LINCOLN, Neb. - In their first year under defensive coordinator Rob Aurich, the Husker defense is top 10 nationally, ranking ninth in total defense. However, the Aurich and the Blackshirts have felt they haven’t quite made the plays needed to win late in Nebraska’s back to back losses to Oregon and Indiana. Therefore, the Big Red adopted a new identity in the bye week, of pitching fourth quarter shutouts. “That always been something that’s on our mind, but also just execute,” LB Owen Chambliss said.

Husker offense sees more pass catchers vs. Indiana, Holgorsen praises Jacory Barney
LINCOLN, Neb. - A week after Kwazi Gilmer had 17 targets and caught 11 of Anthony Colandrea’s passes vs. Maryland, he had just three receptions in the Huskers 20-17 loss to Indiana. However, that opened up opportunities for other pass catchers including tight end Luke Lindenmeyer and receiver Nyziah Hunter, but also Jacory Barney. Offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen says it may have been Barney’s best game yet. “I knew that was kind of an outlier a week ago with Kwazi,” Holgorsen said.
