PANA — The Pana City Council heard a plea to stop installing a solar project at 7th and Grant streets during its August 10 meeting. The project, according to Marsha Miles, would be near the schools, and the developers are requesting a 40-year lease. Miles encouraged the council to oppose the solar farm project at the county level. “Give me a date and a time,” Mayor Nathan Pastor said in response to Miles.

EFFINGHAM — Land of Lincoln Credit Union announced the hire of a new branch manager for its Effingham South branch in a news release Thursday. Taylor Rhodes will be serving as branch manager of the Effingham South branch, located at 2302 S. Banker St. Rhodes will oversee the branch’s sales and operations, in addition to serving as a loan officer. Rhodes has been with LLCU for the past two years, serving as a teller and universal banker at the Vandalia branch.

NOKOMIS — The Nokomis City Council discussed a proposed electricity-supply agreement, approved engineering-related agreements for water and sewer work, and authorized bids for tree maintenance during its regular meeting Monday, Aug. 10. Mayor Dylan Goldsmith and Commissioners Charlie O’Malley and Mike Glenn attended the meeting. Commissioners Tisha Morris and Scott Arkebauer were absent.

There's not enough unbiased journalists in this world, because everyone else have been sucked in this political bias vacuum.
