With star wide receiver DK Metcalf out with a knee injury that he sustained last week in Atlanta, missing just the second game of his NFL career, offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb was going to have to find new targets if he wanted to keep the Hawks soaring. While Seattle certainly has the offensive talent to do so, it wasn’t meant to be in today’s home contest against Buffalo.

At a glance, tonight’s offensive performance may not seem that bad. But -- similar to the 500 yard explosion in the loss to the Detroit Lions on the road in week four -- Seattle’s 312 passing yards, one passing touchdown, and one rushing touchdown bely the impact of two interceptions thrown by Geno Smith. Those two giveaways, including one on the very first drive of the game, led to nine points for San Francisco -- one touchdown with a failed two-point conversion and one field goal.
